While many volunteer organizations perform activities, our members complete missions for federal, state and local agencies and mentor future generations of leaders. Coastal Composite Squadron meets Thursdays from 6:15 PM to 9:00 PM at 203 Red Horse Drive on Camp Pendleton State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach. Enter Camp Pendleton from South Birdneck Road as the entrance off of General Booth is closed. For GPS use 1200 South Birdneck Road. A valid State Drivers License, Government or Military Identification is required to enter the facility. All vehicles must have current registration and state inspections. CAP, in its Total Force role, operates a fleet of 550 aircraft and performs about 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 78 lives annually. Civil Air Patrol’s 56,000 members nationwide also perform homeland security, disaster relief and drug interdiction missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. Its members additionally play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to more than 24,000 young people currently participating in the CAP cadet program. Want to Find Out More? Click Here Coastal Composite Squadron is a proud member of the Virginia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. With just over 1800 members in 24 squadrons across the state, the Virginia Wing of Civil Air Patrol uses its 24 vehicles and 12 single engine aircraft for serve the local community. Every year, Virginia Wing participates in multiple Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief, Homeland Security and Counter Drug missions supporting the Common Wealth and the Nation. Our pilots fly thousands of hours in training time and service to the community including development of the next generation of pilots through our Cadet Program. Nationally, it is estimated that Civil Air Patrol volunteer hours are valued at over $167 million as we perform missions for America.
